Hello, my name is Steven Trimmer. I’m a musician and artist who lives in Athens, Ga. I’m interested in images and spaces that evoke wonder and bridge the waking and dreaming states. By the process of creating I continually reawaken to joy and remember again what is possible in every moment. I’m interested in the technical as well as the traditional, and have found the simultaneous exploration of both a necessity in my creative endeavors.

This is an experiment in cyclic phase music. Begin by passing your mouse over the moving image. Depending upon where you decide to leave the mouse a different melody will repeat. The irregular intervals at which the patterns recede and come forth lend an unpredictable element to the order of the tones.

Here is a musical game of tennis!

I’ve done many drawings over the last few year that explore the symbolism of different situations I’ve seen and imagined.

In the above piece a Chinese checker boards was contructed and wired into MAX/MSP as a step sequencer to control the rhythmic motion of three large needles hitting an egg.
